This is a ‘Z’ bound publication in which house three parts. Part One; the DJ, Part Two; The VJ and Part Three; The ING.
Definition of ‘ING’ : ‘denoting a verbal action, an instance of this, or its result’
The bind of this book allows for a continuous page turning publication in which parts one and two are at the front and back, with part three in the middle, revealed as the reader reachers the back cover of the publication.
The middle being part three ‘The ING’ , is the details and information on the subject of Video Jockeying (VJing) and Lighting Design. This subject matter isn’t noticed by many who attend electronic music events and there for is the extra information for those who go looking for it.
Parts one and two represent the music and visuals of a electronic music event. They contain photography and interviews of each side of an event. These parts of a live music events are the main and sometime only parts noticed by the audience, which is why they come first in this publication.
This publication is interactive in these first two parts, using Artivive to bring to life still images.
Different images show different styles of animation that were practised by the writer in their effort to further understand the art form of VJing.
For ease of use and readability the publication was designed so no matter which part of the publication the viewer is reading, the publication will lie flat.
Bold fluorescent colours were used throughout the publication and screen printed onto the covers to create a club like sensory experience for the viewer.
