Race for Refugees
…is an Amnesty International campaign that challenged the stereotyping and discrimination of Syrian refugees during the crisis of 2017. It aimed to help break the barrier of discrimination surrounding refugees whilst raising awareness for those in need, supporting their safe entry into the UK.

Time is running out for refugees as they struggle to survive in harsh and inhumane conditions.
Only 11% of British adults say they would take a refugee into their home and 41% of people oppose their local council housing 10 refugee families.
We believe wrongful discrimination against refugees has created a barrier, stopping refugees from accessing the necessities they need.
Race for refugees asked the public to show their support and help break this barrier of discrimination by running our race.
Having the simple public engagement, of breaking a finish line banner or tearing our discrimination flyers, made participation easier and more frequent.
We recorded the day and sent the signatures off to amnesty international to help the cause.
